Platform | On which technical architecture is laid out and is made to run. A platform mostly consists of a mixture of hardware and software services. In the context of Skedulo, the platform is where users, system access and data resides, in which the Skedulo applications access, view, edit, update and delete. |

Platform Types
For any digital solution to work, you need a platform for it to be built on top of. A platform is what hosts object data, code, triggers, user security, system access and all the other geeky things that makes the system work correctly.
Core Skedulo has two platform variations; Skedulo Platform and Skedulo on Salesforce. We are not going to go into the nuances between each type in this lesson but want you to be aware of them as there are some different processes when it comes to managing certain aspects of the solution. Each platform type, Skedulo Platform and Skedulo on Salesforce, leverage the Skedulo Web and Mobile Application.
Which platform type your company ends up using can change depending on your overall business needs. Choosing the right platform type is a foundation step and is best left to the experts.
