Skedulo Basics and Key Concepts

Before you jump into the Skedulo solution and start clicking buttons, we are going to provide you with some theoretical concepts to increase your understanding of the various components, capabilities and data that is need to successfully set up and use Skedulo. When educating people to use a new solution, it can help to break training material into various methods of delivery.

This course will be a mixture of reference material, explanations and concepts, to help set you for success for future courses containing tutorials and how to guides.

Reference material

The only job of reference material is to describe, as clearly and completely as possible. Reference material outlines key terminology, descriptions of Skedulo capabilities and other key information you will need for later on.

Explanations & concepts

It’s important for people to understand the big picture. This type of content can consider alternatives, or multiple different approaches to the same question. It is there to help you understand the why, not the how. Explanation content shares insight into the big picture and will help you to understand why you should approach something a certain way when taking action.

Tutorials are steps by step instructions. For this type of content we will;

1. Outline what you are going to do
2. Take you on a step by step journey to do said task
3. Only provide you with single way to do something

A tutorial is used to take action, facilitating experiential learning.

How to guides

A how-to guide is an answer to a question where only someone with experience could even formulate it. We will assume you have some knowledge and understanding and you already know how to do basic things and use basic tools. In a how to guide we will take you through the steps required to solve a real-world problem and will be wholly goal originated.
